The idea of restoring faith in government by speeding the delivery of housing and other infrastructure is appealing. Can that happen without harming the environment and already overburdened communities?
Join us for an open discussion about the abundance framework detailed in the recent book by journalists Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. We’ll explore why the concept has gained momentum in some circles, why it has drawn hard critiques from others, and how this or other frameworks can best advance inclusivity and justice.
Speakers:
Dr. Manuel Pastor, Director, University of Southern California Equity Research Institute
Allison Harvey Turner, Chief Executive Officer, Water Foundation
Hana Creger, Associate Director of Climate Equity, Greenlining Institute and Co-anchor Clean RIDES Network
Following our panel presentations, we’ll moderate a discussion to help funders grapple with the concept, explore alternatives and consider next steps.
We’ll also set aside time during this 90-minute call for a peer conversation among funders.
This is a funder only event. Be sure to register by Nov. 4 in order to receive login information. If you have any questions regarding this event, please reach out to Hazel Paguaga at hazel@fundersnetwork.org.
This webinar is organized by TFN’s Urban Water Funders working group and the Mobility and Access Collaborative and Smart Growth California, both TFN initiatives.
